In case of helicopters poor visibility at low light conditions artificial vision channels can not provide piloting safety. Electrooptical surveillance systems can’t always detect and visualize separate low-contrast hazards that appear at low-altitude missions (electric supply chains, masts, tubes, trees etc.). Laser locators operation is based on the principle of superposition laser scanning (sensing) space signal and background television or thermal image received on helicopter course. The article considers conditions and methods of application of laser radar systems as a part of helicopter avionics complexes.
