Measuring System for Inspection of the Germanium Aspherical Lenses Using the UTM‑250 Ultra-Precision Machines
The article describes a homegrown embedded measuring system for the shape inspection of optical parts that can be used in the ultra-precision machines designed for diamond turning. The control system includes the contact and contactless sensors, a low-coherence interferometer, a signal converter and software that allows calculating any shape deviations of the spherical and aspherical surfaces and adjusting the CNC code to eliminate systematic shape deviations. The examples of using a contact sensor to increase the P-V shape accuracy of aspherical germanium lenses with a diameter of 90 mm from 1.4 μm to 100 nm after the systematic shape deviation compensation are provided. The possible application of a contactless sensor included in the measuring system to adjust an ultra-precision machine, as well as to control flat and cylindrical surfaces are described.

Determination of Mechanical and Tribotechnical Characteristics of Coatings in Laser Broadband Cladding of Steels
The paper considers the results of metallographic and tribotechnical tests of 20X13 steel samples and 20X13 steel samples with laser broadband cladding with 20X13 powder. The deposited layer had a dendritic differently oriented structure. The microhardness of the coating was 501–575 HV. It was found that the wear rate of the cladded coating is 3.16 times lower than that of the base material. The wear rate of the counter sample made of hardened steel 45 was lower in the friction pair with the cladded sample compared to the base material. The average friction factors for the cladded samples were 0.043, and for the base material was 0.078. The performance of broadband laser cladding is 5–7 times higher than when processing with a defocused beam.

Domestic CAD System for Engineering Analysis of Photonic Integrated Circuits from T1 Integration
DOI: 10.22184/1993-7296.FRos.2025.19.2.88.100

The new Russian system of computer-aided design and analysis of components of photonic integrated circuits of T1 Integration company (T1 IT holding) has been presented. The article analyzes the capabilities of domestic CAD, including in comparison with its foreign equivalent, which is widely used in enterprises of the Russian Federation. Special attention is paid to the applicability of the methods proposed by Russian developers.

Channel Secondary Electron Multiplier with Extended Dynamic Range
DOI: 10.22184/1993-7296.FRos.2025.19.2.148.153

The results of efforts on extending the dynamic range of a channel-type secondary-electron multiplier are reported. Design and process solutions are described, which allowed to achieve an increase of the output current value in linear mode. Preliminary electron scrubbing of the detector is proposed.

Smart Telescopic Sight
DOI: 10.22184/1993-7296.FRos.2025.19.2.142.147

Two variants of the design of a telescopic sight
with variable magnification are considered. The
first one 1–10×24 is wide field of view 10× zoom
magnification. The second one (1–4.5×20) is
compact and lightweight 150 mm long telescopic
sight. Additional attachments installed in front of
objective lens and behind of eyepiece significantly
expand the functionality of the telescopic sight
and can easily turn it into an “smart” one

Interaction of Electromagnetic Radiation with the Metal Fractal Clusters. Part 2
The article continues the discussion of effects occurring in the polymer threads with the metallic fractal clusters (see Photonics Russia. 2025;19(1):14–27. DOI: 10.22184/1993‑7296.FRos.2025.19.1.14.27) and considers the features of capturing external radiation with a wavelength λ in the optical wavelength range by the fractal clusters made of spherical metal particles with the radius R. An explanation is given to the effect generation conditions titled “photon localization” when the condition R << λ is met.

Development of the Cycloadaptive Lighting Mode to Increase the Lactuca sativa L. Yield
DOI: 10.22184/1993-7296.FRos.2025.19.2.154.166

In order to increase plant yield and reduce radiation sources energy consumption, we introduce the concept of the cycloadaptive photomode (CAPM), which adapts to the plant development substages (steps), dynamically changes lighting parameters to optimize their growth and development, and promotes increased photosynthetic pigments synthesis. Based on the results of assessing the spectral composition of LED devices effect on the Lactuca sativa L. development, it was determined that the light-emitting device based on the automated change in the spectral composition of radiation and the photosynthetic photon flux depending density on the stage of plant development in accordance with the cycloadaptive lighting mode leads to increase Lactuca sativa L. yield by 2 times, as well as a decrease in the amount of water used to form 1 g of dry matter by 2.5 times compared to natural lighting.
